What boards are

Boards are governed process surfaces for records and other supported resources. They show work as items moving through statuses, with enough context for users to understand what needs attention and who is responsible.

A board is not a separate copy of the business object. It is a process layer around the target record or resource, with its own movement history and board-specific context.
