Tasks
Use Tasks to record operational work: who manages it, who performs it, what information is required, when it is due and how it ended. A Task Definition supplies the rules and forms. Each task has its own identity and history.
Your administrator must enable Tasks and provide an appropriate menu entry and roles. A Worker represents a person who can perform work; your user account must be linked to an active Worker for self-service acquisition and execution. Configuration access alone does not grant access to tasks.
Two ways to organize work
Section titled “Two ways to organize work”| Mode | How work reaches its performer |
|---|---|
| Direct | A Responsible is assigned directly. An Owner can oversee the work. |
| Queue | Work belongs to one Queue and an Executor performs it. A managing Responsible, when configured, does not perform the task. |
A Definition’s mode does not change after creation. A Context links the task to a business record or Board item; it does not automatically assign a performer or give access to the linked object.
Find and inspect work
Section titled “Find and inspect work”The Tasks screen offers My work, Owned by me and Queues, according to your access. Search, filters and personal columns narrow what you see. They do not change the shared Queue order or the task another Worker may acquire.
Open a row in the preview drawer for quick inspection, or open its full page. Overview contains the state, participants, due date and other properties. Other sections expose configured data, instructions, history and collaboration. Available commands depend on current permissions, state and capacity; an unavailable command may explain the condition that prevents it.
Signals have their own grid column. On the full page they appear in a ribbon under the header; in the drawer they appear as separate alerts above Overview. They remain visible while another section is open and disappear when there are no active signals. Select a ribbon item, including with Enter or Space, to read its details.
Tasks related to a business record
Section titled “Tasks related to a business record”A task can have an Entity Instance or Board Item as its Context. You can inspect that relation from the task, subject to access permissions. A built-in list of related tasks is not yet available on the business record’s details page or preview drawer. These sections are planned for both Entity Instances and Board Items; they do not require the future Case management features. For now, use the Tasks workbench to find and open work.
