Workspace pages

Some screens in your workspace are built specifically for it. They appear in your menus like any other page and open under an /apps/... address, and the page header area names them “Workspace page”. You use them the same way you use any other screen; this page explains the few ways they can differ.

Workspace pages show up as ordinary entries in the menus assigned to you. There is no separate place to look for them: if a workspace page is meant for you, it is in your menu, and opening it works like opening any other page. The address under /apps/ is the only visible hint that the screen was built for your workspace.

Workspace pages follow the same access rules as everything else. A page may be visible only to users with the right permissions, so two colleagues can see different menus. What a page shows is still governed by your data access: it can only display records and values you are allowed to see, and the actions it offers are checked the same way as anywhere else in the workspace.

Workspace pages are maintained by the people who build your workspace. When builders publish an update, a page can gain sections, change layout, or behave differently than it did yesterday. After an update you may be asked to refresh the app; refreshing loads the updated pages.

If a workspace page shows an error or an “unavailable” state, the problem is with the page, not with your records or your account. Note which page it was and what you were doing, and tell your administrator — fixing it is an administrator or builder task, not something you can resolve from the page.

How workspace pages are authored, built, and published is documented in the Workspace UI Project guide.
