Assignments and inheritance

Base schedule assignments form two effective-dated histories:

• a Site assignment selects the Site’s Working Calendar;
• a Worker assignment selects the ordinary Site and may select a personal Working Calendar.

When a Worker assignment has no personal calendar, the Worker inherits the effective calendar of the assigned Site. No calendar is invented when the required assignment or published calendar is missing.

Create or change an assignment

Open Working Schedule, select the Worker or Site, and choose Manage schedule. The drawer shows the effective assignment and immutable history before it offers actions allowed for the current user.

• Create starts the first chain entry.
• Change appends a new effective date and target.
• Correct explicitly replaces evidence at the same effective date without erasing the prior row.
• End appends an entry that leaves no target from its effective date.

Each command uses the current chain version. If another operator changes the chain first, reload the current history and decide whether the intended change still applies.

Matrix is intentionally read-only. Open the standard assignment workflow for the affected Worker or Site instead of editing a matrix cell directly.
